EPA Updates on Groundwater Remediation Plan

July 26, 2023

As you may be aware, the EPA recently issued a plan to clean up groundwater contamination in the New Cassel / Hicksville area. The Hicksville Water District (HWD) is proactively working with all regulatory agencies to ensure that comprehensive measures are put in place to effectively remediate the contamination plume.  All of the water served to District residents is in strict compliance with all federal, state and county regulations, allowing the community to rest assured that the water served to our constituents does not exceed regulatory levels for any contaminants. The HWD routinely tests its water for more than 170 parameters at treatment facilities designed by engineers and approved by the health department.

Any customers with concerns about their water quality are encouraged to visit our website at www.hicksvillewater.org or contact the District office at 516-931-0184 or info@hicksvillewater.org. For additional information, residents can contact the Nassau County Department of Health at 516-227-9692.
