The Hicksville Water District has begun work on Zone 4 this week with hydrant maintenance. Maintenance is expected to be complete by October 2016. The work will be performed Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. You may experience some water discoloration; however, the water is safe to drink and use.
This maintenance is done annually to insure that the hydrants function properly in any emergency. If you experience some discoloration, simply run cold water only in your tub for a few minutes until it is clear. If you need to wash a load of white clothes, we recommend that you first check the water to see that it runs clear.
