Public Notice — Annual Water Commissioner Elections

HICKSVILLE WATER DISTRICT

                   ANNUAL ELECTION FOR PUBLIC OFFICE OF WATER COMMISSIONER

                                               DATE OF ELECTION:  DECEMBER 11, 2018

Persons interested in running for the office of Commissioner of the Hicksville Water District are hereby advised that the Annual Election will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Hicksville Fire Department Headquarters Building, located at 20 East Marie Street, Hicksville, New York and at Hicksville Fire Department Station No. 4 located at Levittown Parkway, Hicksville, New York.

Candidates must file a designating petition for the office at least thirty (30) days prior to the date of the election at the Water District Office located a 4 Dean Street, Hicksville, New York, between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 3:30 P.M. with District Secretary, Mary Ellen Thorgramson, the person designated by the Board to accept such petitions.  Petitions must be filed timely, contain at least 25 signatures of duly registered voters residing in the District, and be completed in proper form.  A form petition is available from Ms. Thorgramson on request.  Petition forms will not be made available outside of regular business hours, and no filing will be valid unless delivered in person during official filing hours.  The District will not take responsibility for the accuracy of mail or express delivery, and petitions may not be submitted using such forms of transmission.  A petition must clearly state the particular office sought in order to be valid. A petition which does not select the office and describe its term will be considered invalid.

The offices available are as follows:

1.     Water Commissioner, Three-Year Term, commencing 1/1/2019, ending 12/31/2021.
