Hicksville Water District

Regular Hydrant Maintenance Begins Tuesday 9/24

Beginning Tuesday, September 25 The Hicksville Water District will begin routine fire hydrant maintenance in Zone 4 (D) which encompasses the area southeast f Old Country Rd. and Broadway The maintenance will be performed Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Hydrant maintenance and testing are important steps to ensure these critical pieces of our infrastructure are able to perform in the case of an emergency. In this maintenance, The Hicksville Water District will test pressure, flush systems and grease clasps as necessary to ensure performance meets the needs of our area’s firefighters for any incidence.

During this time, residents may experience some water discoloration; however, the water is entirely safe to drink. If you do experience discoloration, simply run the cold water in your tub until it runs clear. If residents may be doing a white load of laundry, the District recommends checking for discoloration before starting. We apologize for any inconvenience. For any questions or concerns, please call The Hicksville Water District at 516-931-0184 between 8:00 a.m. and 4 p.m.
