To Our Valued Customers:
Please be aware that beginning on or about Monday, March 27, 2017, a contractor for the Hicksville Water District will be performing water main related work on Willow Avenue between West Avenue and Cortland Avenue. It is anticipated that all construction activities will be completed in approximately two weeks from the date of commencement. Work will involve the open excavation of trenches to facilitate the installation of new water pipe. Please note this start date is weather dependent and may be delayed due to inclement weather.
During construction, you may experience brief disruptions of water service, infrequent loss of access to driveways and sidewalks and an increase in construction truck traffic. Construction activity will be limited to Monday through Friday; 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The contractor will not be permitted to leave open excavations overnight at any point during construction with all roads swept clean at the end of each work day. The Hicksville Water District is conscientious of our neighbors, and will make every attempt to notify consumers at least 24 hours in advance of loss of service or driveway access.
